Abepura Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Jayapura City, Papua Province has been designated as a Hospital (RS) for special services for patients infected with Corona Virus (Covid-19). Services for patients infected with Covid-19 at Abepura District Hospital are valid starting Monday, May 18, 2020.
This was conveyed by the Papua Covid-19 Task Force Spokesperson, Dr. Silvanus Sumule, on the sidelines of a meeting between the Covid Task Force and the Head of the Papua Province Human Resources Management Agency (BPSDM), Aryoko AF Rumaropen, along with the ranks, at BPSDM Training Center, Kotaraja, Jayapura City, Papua.
"Monday has been able to carry out (service) with a total number of beds prepared as many as 150. Monday has been able to run [walk]. That is the report that I submit to Mr. Deputy Governor, "said Silvanus Sumule.
Sumule said that besides the Abepura Regional Hospital as Covid-19 Special Hospital, there were several buildings that became shelters for people who had undergone rapid tests with reactive results namely Muspagco Hotel and Sahid Entrop Hotel.
"After the last meeting with the Muspida and Covid Task Force Team at the Papua Regional Police Headquarters, the Deputy Governor continued to monitor the progress of the steps in the field. First, we have reported that Abepura Regional Hospital for Covid-19 patient services and for those who have taken rapid tests and their results are reactive are accommodated in the Muspagco Hotel and the Sahid Entrop Hotel, "he said.
While the Kotaraja BPSDM Training and Education Center is currently also in preparation to become a shelter. It's just that, reality in the community's field around Balai Diklat needs to get good education so that they accept the decision.
"Today we are meeting to prepare a training center but the reality on the ground is that the community needs education so that we can receive what we are doing today. In essence, the Deputy Governor requested all decisions taken at the Regional Police Headquarters meeting to be immediately implemented, "said Silvanus Sumule.
Meanwhile, the Head of Papua Province BPSDM, Aryoko AF Rumaropen, stated that he is ready to implement the government's decision to make BPSDM Training Center as a temporary shelter for those who have taken rapid tests with reactive results.
"We support the decision of the Deputy Governor together with Forkompinda and the Covid team for handling Covid-19. BPSDM is ready to support, "he said.
