KKB Back Acting, 1 Member Severely Injured

The gang that was suspected to be the KKB Armed Criminal Group again attacked the 99 Police Station (Pospol) Ndeotadi, Bogobaida District, Paniai, Papua. In the action they managed to run away four firearms.

Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw confirmed the attack on the post. The attack occurred on Friday night (5/15/2020) around 22:00 CET.

"At that time Brigadier Christian himself was inside the Pospol, while three of his colleagues were outside following a meeting with residents related to the preparation of the Pospol sarpras," Paulus told reporters on Saturday (5/16/2020).

According to Paulus, Brigadier Christian suffered a slash on the neck, back, right and left temple and the stomach as a result of the attack. The perpetrators also carried off four firearms.

"The weapons that were taken away were AK 47 1 shoots, AK China 1 shoots, and SS-1 V1 2 shoots," he said.

Paulus strongly suspected that the attackers were part of the Paniai and Intan Jaya armed criminal groups (KKB) led by Ton Tabuni.

"It is possible that the perpetrators were Paniai's armed criminal group (KKb) led by Ton Tabuni," he said.

After that incident, Brigadier Christian was immediately evacuated using SAS Satria Air Service 81 helicopter to Nabire. Brigadier Christian is currently undergoing medical team treatment at Nabire Regional Hospital. The Chief of Police together with the Military Commander XVII / Cenderawasih is scheduled to leave for the scene.
