KONI Athletes and Officials Provide Assistance to Jayapura Residents Affected by Covid-19 |
Social care encourages Papuan athletes, namely athletes, trainers and PON officials along with KONI Papua, to help ease the burden on residents affected by Pandemic Covid-19, which is still sweeping the world, Indonesia to Papua.
The concern of the Papuan sportsman helps the needs of nine staples or nine-basic necessities for the families of former athletes and underprivileged residents in Jayapura city / district.
"This assistance is purely from KONI management, athletes, official and trainer contributions. We cut their rights. Then that's what we gather and we buy food, this is our sense of concern as a sports community, "said KONI Papua Secretary General, Kenius Kogoya, Friday (5/22/2020).
Kenius Kogoya said that this food aid did not necessarily guarantee the survival of the community during the Covid-19 Pandemic. They hope that what is given can ease the burden on society.
"When viewed, this assistance is not as big as what is given by the government. But don't look at the size, because this is our sense of care, hopefully this can be useful, "said Kenius Kogoya.
This momentum, Kogoya asked for the support of the mothers in Kampung Harapan, blessing the Papuan athletes who appear at PON XX next year.
"We ask the mothers who are here (Kampung Harapan) to provide support to our athletes to be able to excel. We are proud to have the Rising Papua stadium, thanks to Pak Ondo and the community for providing a location for the construction of the Bangkit Papua Stadium, "he said.
Head of the GKI Church of Filadelfia Nolokla, Reverend Hosea Taudufu, S.Th invites residents to give praise and gratitude, for their care from athletes, coaches, officials and officials and KONI Papua staff.
"This is God's gift in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic. I represent all the congregations, thank the KONI Secretary General and all PON XX organizers for continuing to prepare for the implementation of the PON, it can be held well, "said the pastor Hosea Taudufu.
Taudufu said that PON is a gift and invites mothers to participate in developing what can be done in order to benefit from the implementation of PON. Church members also gave prayer support, PON in Papua went smoothly and successfully.

Food aid distributed in the form of rice, instant noodles, sugar, cooking oil, eggs and other basic food needs. In addition, masks and hand sanitizers are also given to the public.
