Merauke Police Chief AKBP Ary Purwanto, on Monday (11/5), handed over direct cash assistance (BLT) to 423 drivers of public transportation affected by the corona virus (COVID-19) taking place in the Makolantas area of ​​the Merauke Regional Police Station witnessed by BRI Merauke and Organda Merauke officers.

Direct social assistance from the central government to the drivers affected by COVID-19 in Merauke Regency in the form of Rp. 600,000 cash for the May, June and July periods.

Merauke Police Chief AKBP Ary Purwanto said the aid distribution was in agreement with the last day of the safety operation carried out by the police.

"We also use this opportunity to socialize the prevention of COVID-19 in Merauke Regency, such as using masks, washing hands and a culture of clean living," he said.
