The Ministry of Social Affairs (Menos) cooperates with social organizations (Ormas) the Ansor Youth Movement and the Indonesian Christian Youth Movement (GAMKI) in the distribution of social assistance for people affected by COVID-19.
"We are not only cooperating with government elements in distributing social assistance. But we are also involving the community. Yesterday we were communicating with film workers, soap operas and artists. This time we collaborated with GP Ansor and GAMKI," said Social Minister Juliari P Batubara , Saturday (6/6).
The Minister said that the partnership between the state and the community, including mass organizations, was needed to handle various national problems, including handling COVID-19.
According to Juliari, there is a space the country cannot reach because of limited resources and capabilities. However, mass organizations such as GP Ansor, which in its history helped to establish the country, have wide reach.
"So we thank you, because GP Ansor is willing to help us distribute social assistance to affected communities COVID-19," said Juliari.
As part of the social safety net policy, the President's assistance social assistance is expected to reach the widest possible range of people affected by COVID-19.
The aid distributed by the two mass organizations was one thousand packages each. On that occasion, the Minister of Social Affairs handed over symbolically the basic food aid to Ansor GP General Chairman Yaqut Cholil Quomas.
"I leave the social assistance recipient to GP Ansor. Here there is a community of street buskers, the community of Koran teachers and so on. The important thing is that the recipient's data will be included in order to meet the requirements," said the Minister.
GP Ansor General Chairman Yaqut Cholil Quomas ensured that the submitted Social Assistance Recipient data fulfilled the provisions of having a Population Registration Number and name and address accordingly.
Likewise, the assistance to GAMKI was received directly by the Chairman of the Organizational Advisory Council (MPO) Michael Wattimena.
"We are grateful and appreciate the policy of the Minister of Social Affairs Juliari P Coal. We are proud to be trusted by the Ministry of Social Affairs to be the one who participated in distributing social assistance to the affected communities Covid-19," he said.
