Oniara Wonda Most Wanted Papuan KKB Member Caught

Oniara Wonda, is one of the members of the armed criminal group (KKB) led by Goliat Tabuni who was arrested in Igimbut Village, Pagaleme District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua on Sunday (5/31/2020).

Oniara is one of the most wanted KKB members since 2011. Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said Oniara was involved in nine criminal acts in several districts or cities in Papua Province.

Paulus added, Oniara was involved in the attack on Papuan Satgassus personnel at the Popome Peak in December 2017.

"The shooting of the TNI / Polri (Nemangkawi Ops Task Force) during law enforcement will be carried out at the Balingga Headquarters, Lanny Jaya Regency," Paulus said.

Now, Oniara Wonda is being treated at Jayapura Bhayangkara Hospital. The police were forced to shoot his leg when he ran away during an ambush.

Earlier it was reported that police arrested Oniara Wonda at Yotinus Telenggen's alias Vandem Telenggen's house in Kapung Igimbut, Puncak Jaya Regency, around 19.30 CEST.

For his actions, Oniara Wonda was charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code, 338 Criminal Code, 365 Criminal Code, and 351 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2) jo Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
