Paniai Regency Government Provides Financial Assistance to Papuan Students Throughout Indonesia

Paniai Regency Government (Pemkab) distributes APBD for aid funds to students from Paniai throughout Indonesia who are affected by Covid-19.

"Starting today, we have already transferred assistance to 615 student accounts in various tertiary institutions. Directly to each student's account. All have passed validation at Dikti. So those who have sent data but cannot, it means that their students are not registered with the Directorate of Higher Education, so the Regional Government does not pay, "said Paniai Regent, Meki Nawipa, Wednesday (06/17/2020).

According to the regent, each student receives Rp. 2 million. "For those who are actively studying but cannot contact the Social Service, we will pay in the second wave." he stressed.

In addition, he said, the government also paid the rent for 19 rented houses inhabited by students. "Today also rent or lodging costs throughout Indonesia began to be distributed." he said.

Paniai Regency Social Service Secretary, Ronald Kadepa, conveyed the distribution of funds through Bank Papua account numbers.

"Outside the Bank Papua account, the Social Affairs Team must first write and complete the transfer slip," he said.
