Papua Provincial Government Coordinates With BPS Regarding Data Collection on Residents Without NIK

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Papua will immediately coordinate with the local Statistics Agency (BPS) related to the data collection of citizens without a Population Identification Number (NIK).

Assistant for the Economy and Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of Papua Province Muhammad Musaad in Jayapura, said residents who have a NIK in the area recorded 45-50 percent so that in conducting the population census by BPS, data collection will be tried at once.

"Because of the online census report conducted by BPS, the achievement is still below the target, so if we do the data collection again, we will use it all," he said, Wednesday (6/24).

He said in the future there would be a team that would work together with BPS to collect data, especially for residents who did not have a NIK.

"Because the absence of NIK is one of the reasons why the distribution of social assistance from the central government, the quota cannot be fulfilled by the Provincial Government of Papua," he said.
