Jayapura Education Agency Prepares New Scheme Welcomes Teaching and Learning Activities

The Head of the Jayapura Regency Education Office, Ted Y. Mokay, admitted that the Jayapura Regency Education Office had prepared a new scheme for students of the elementary and junior high school Paud when the government in the future allowed teaching and learning activities in the classroom.

"The new scheme designed by the Jayapura Regency Education Office is in the form of teaching and learning activities using the shift system. We have prepared a new scheme when the government allows the teaching and learning activities to be carried out in schools," said Jayapura District Education Office Head Ted Y. Mokay.

He admitted that the application of teaching and learning activities in schools was extra careful. Because these children are quite difficult to be directed towards the application of health protocols. Because the tools for association between children in school can make it easier to spread the COVID-19 faster.

"Therefore, these schools we also follow the advice of the provincial education office we are given a circular for the SMP until July 31, stay at home and later we from the service will also follow the development and direction of the district task force on whether these children can then carry out teaching and learning activities in schools, "he said.

In connection with the application of teaching and learning activities if allowed to be carried out in schools the Jayapura Regency Education Office has also prepared a scheme, for example for one class of junior high school students that has a capacity of 32 students.

But during the COVID-19 pandemic this was divided into two shifts. One morning shift Then one more shift is carried out during the day. Then class hours are also reduced from 40 minutes to 30 minutes 1 subject.

"Like that later we will set the residence later if it is permissible for us to walk but if it has not been permitted by the children we will continue to direct it to study at home," he said.

He explained that to support teaching and learning activities at the home of Jayapura Regency Regional Government, he also prepared learning facilities and facilities through Umbai Kenambai radio services.

This education service via Kenambay Umbay radio has been going on since last March. For this reason, he hopes that all parents of students can replace the role of the teacher at home by guiding their children to learn. In addition, teaching and learning activities services are also assisted by Umbai kambai television learning programs.

Now that we have collaborated with cable TV, according to Ted Mokay, we have about 15 thousand connections here, which can also be accessed by children to take lessons taught by our teachers here.

"So we choose good teachers and they teach on television and it can be followed by children. We hope that parents can guide them so that children do not have to play the film at the appointed time," he added.
