The Provincial Government of Papua once again extended the extended and tightened social restrictions (PSDD) of phase III relaxation to 31 July 2020. This is due to the high number of Corona virus cases (COVID-19) in Papua.
"We are still extending the COVID-19 emergency response period to 28 days, twice the incubation period, starting on July 4-July 31, 2020, given the high number of positive cases of COVID-19," Deputy Governor of Papua, Klemen Tinal told reporters after PSDD II relaxation evaluation evaluation meeting, Jayapura, Friday (3/7/2020).
Tinal said PSDD's policy direction prioritizes and prioritizes the health and safety of the Papuan people, with a focus on strengthening the health system in handling community-based COVID-19.
"Stage VIII policy with the theme of relaxation of social restrictions is expanded and tightened (PSDD) adaptation towards a productive and safe society in Papua contextual COVID-19," he said.
Each regent and mayor or association of regents and mayors in 5 customary territories is responsible for controlling COVID-19 in their territory. While the Papua Provincial Government only supports COVID-19 handling in districts / cities selectively.
In addition, said Klemen Tinal, in accelerating the handling of COVID-19 it is expected that the participation and cooperation of community leaders and religious leaders.
"We ask for the independence and participation of the community, religious leaders, traditional leaders, by building community potential and excellence, mutual assistance and mutual cooperation through the establishment of resilient villages and resilient RT / RW COVID-19 which are the basis of the transmission of the COVID-19 transmission chain," he said.
He requested that the district / city government make the puskesmas more effective as the frontline for public health services and optimize the facilities of laboratories and private clinics for rapid test examination.
Government hospitals and partner hospitals are required to support the management of COVID-19 without neglecting the functions of public services and emergency services for non-Corona patients according to the health protocol.
"The Provincial Government of Papua supports the improvement of hospital functions among other IGDs, the need for clean water, increased electrical power, PCR test equipment and other health facilities, as well as ensuring the fulfillment of medical personnel in terms of the number and expertise needed as well as providing incentives and accommodation for all medical workers who are in charge of handling COVID-19, "he added.
