The XX XX 2021 National Sports Week (PON) event in Papua Province will not limit the quota of journalists who will cover the four-yearly sporting event.
This was conveyed by PB PON Papua Daily Chair Yunus Wonda when launching the PON XX journalist registration application, at the Horizon Hotel in Kotaraja, Jayapura, Wednesday (1/7/20).
"This is to be a reference for us PB PON through the public relations field to issue ID cards and accommodation as well as journalists' consumption."
"PB PON does not determine the quota for the number of journalists, therefore through this registration PB PON can utilize it through existing applications," Yunus said in his remarks.
Yunus also admitted that his party openly cooperated with SIWO throughout Indonesia to accommodate all journalists who wanted to cover PON XX.
The PON XX event also did not close the opportunity for foreign journalists who wanted to cover the biggest sports event in Indonesia.
"We also ask for help from KONI Center and SIWO throughout Indonesia. Hope that we all journalists can be accommodated. Likewise with foreign journalists we also invite."
"This is the first time it has been done, where the registration process has been connected with e-KTP and the press council. The condition is that the accredited press company," he explained.
Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary for the Economy and Welfare of the Regional Secretary of Papua, Muhammad Musa'ad representing the Governor of Papua said the launch of the application for registration of journalists covering the PON XX was proof of the seriousness of the Papua Province in preparing for the biggest sporting event in Indonesia.
