Mandala Trikora Youth Urges Government to Form an Independent Audit Team for the Special Autonomy Fund
Chairman of the Mandala Youth DPD Trikora Ali Kabiay who is also a figure of millennial generation Papuans said, to find out whether or not the special autonomy should be audited.
A comprehensive audit is important to be held to account for the use of the trillions of rupiah in funds to the people and the country.
"If it fails where? If it works where? There must be data in the form of accountability, not just talking. We cannot deny, the special autonomy fund seems to revolve only in the Papuan elite, while at the grassroots (the community) it does not. Remember that there are still Rp1 "85 trillion deposited in the bank. This must be checked," Ali said in Abepura, Saturday (7/25/2020).
The government must be firm for the evaluation and audit. The government must form a special audit team consisting of various independent law enforcement agencies.
Evaluation and auditing are needed to find out where the past mistakes were, and as a form of attention and to build the confidence of the people of Papua towards the central government.
"In my opinion an independent team from Jakarta must be formed, not from Papua so that all is open. Maybe the audit team can be a combination of the Police, BPK, KPK and Prosecutors, and can also collaborate with the regions. If only from Papua, it looks like it won't work, because from year to just like that, there will be no evaluation, "he said.
Ali said, groups who continue to voice the failure of Otsus and point out that the central government is wrong is very wrong. How not, all regional leaders from the level of Governor, Deputy Governor, Regent, and Mayor to the lower ranks are held by Orang Asli Papua (OAP), not others.
