There is no term Otsus Failed
The phenomenon of pros and cons ahead of the end of the Papua Special Autonomy (Otsus) budget policy in 2021 continues to roll out among the people.
"There are parties who think that so far Otsus has failed, but in reality there is no term as failure. There is a lot of clear evidence that Otsus has succeeded in changing people's welfare slowly, "said Ondoafi, Yoka Village, Titus Membri, in Jayapura, Tuesday (11/8/2020).
He asked all parties to join hands to support Special Autonomy Volume II in Papua, considering that this policy has so far brought about many changes.
"If there is no special autonomy and only hope that the APBD and APBN, Papua will be left behind with other regions in Indonesia. It is assessed in terms of funds, while from a partiality side it will be left behind, "said Ondoafi Titus.
He also hopes for all parties to support Special Autonomy Volume II in Papua, although with a note that there must be an evaluation.
"We have to support it, if it is considered a failure, it is not the special autonomy but the people who have the authority, and that must be underlined and evaluated," he said.
He even added that 12 villages in Jayapura City have unanimously supported that Special Autonomy Volume II should be extended.
"Nobody refuses, we all support, if there are people who reject it personally, they will not represent Papua," he said.
