TNI and Gotong Royong Residents Build Traditional Houses in Boven Digoel Papua


Task Force TNI Battalion Mechanical Battalion 516 / CY, Kolakops Rem 174 / ATW unceasingly continues to provide the best for citizens who are on the border of Indonesia-Papua New Guinea.

That was proven, with the construction of traditional houses for residents in Kampung Kangewot, Boven Digoel Regency, Papua.

The house construction, led by First Lieutenant Eko Guruh, received good response from the surrounding community. One of them is the existence of residents who voluntarily participated in completing the construction of the house.

"Our territorial coaching efforts continue to be done for the sake of the establishment of intimacy between the Task Force and residents at the border," said Dansatgas Pamtas Yonmek 516, Lt. Col. Muhammad Radhi Rusin, Sunday (2/8/2020).

The culture of mutual assistance, said Dansatgas, seemed to materialize in the border area. He considered, culture is one of the legacy of the predecessors that must be known by the public.

"Because, mutual cooperation is synonymous with the nationalist spirit and patriotism of our predecessors," he explained.

Alexisius (65), the head of the local village said that he really appreciated the construction of the traditional house.

The reason, he said, the existence of a traditional house in his village, very awaited by local residents.

"We say, thank you very much to the TNI. This is a gift for us, "he said.
