Youth Community Friends of KT Distribute One Thousand Masks in South Jayapura District

Dozens of youths from Papua Province who are members of the Sahabat KT community distributed as many as 1,000 masks to residents affected by the new type of corona virus that causes COVID-19 in the complex behind Entrop 4 High School, Entrop Village, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Sunday.

"Today we distributed as many as 1,000 masks to residents in the complex behind SMUN 4 Entrop, and some time before we had distributed around 2,000 masks in Jayapura City, one of which was in the tourist area of ??Hamadi Beach," said the head of the Sahabat KT Alex Menanti Daily, in Jayapura. , Sunday.

He said the action was a form of concern for his community as Papuan youth who wanted to help the government socialize health protocols by distributing masks.

Apart from distributing thousands of masks, Alex, accompanied by the Chairman of Sahabat KT Lidia Grace Boikaway, Deputy Chairperson of Yonal Hansen, Secretary Jecky Picanissa, coordinator of arts and creativity Denny Jackson and organizational coordinator Dolfi Wondiwoi admitted to also distributing 1,000 boxes of green bean porridge to residents.

"This action is a form of support for the government from young Papuans, we want to convey to all parties to do something positive for our fellowmen in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic in order to welcome the adaptation of new habits," he said.

Asked why he chose the housing complex behind SMUN 4 Entrop, according to Alex, because the housing area had been temporarily closed by the Jayapura City Government due to the presence of local residents who were affected by a deadly virus that had no cure.

"If today we distribute masks in the residential area of ??SMUN 4 Entrop which is carried out door-to-door, then on the next opportunity we will do it in other areas in Jayapura City which were categorized as the red zone for COVID-19," he said.

"This momentum we also socialize health protocols to residents by using masks when doing activities outside the home, maintaining distance, washing hands after activities and most importantly maintaining personal health and the environment," continued Alex.
