The Mimika Regent guarantees the security of the implementation of PON

Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng said the government would ensure the security and comfort of the XX Papua National Sports Week and the Ecclesiastical Choir Party (Pesparawi) in Mimika Regency as the host.

"The presence of the TNI / Polri really helps the local government," said Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng to the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force team and the AKBP Police Public Relations Team Dr Arief Fajar Satria.

Regarding the implementation of PON and Pesparawi, Regent Eltinus Omaleng emphasized that multiple security guarantees in Timika make the city of Timika safe. "Mimika is very safe," said the Mimika Regent excitedly.

Regent Omaleng emphasized that the presence of the TNI-Polri in the Mimika Regency area can protect the community from various disturbances so that the Mimika Government is increasingly optimistic that the implementation of the XX PON 2021 will be carried out smoothly and successfully.

"We plan to have two big venues or events, the first is Pesparawi and PON XX 2021. So that we in Mimika Regency we have prepared several venues, others have 100 percent, so the total is 85 percent that we have prepared. Another 15 percent is clear (no problem), ”said the Mimika Regent.

On that occasion, the Mimika Regent also wanted to leave a message to the central government and provincial governments as well as to the wider community that Mimika Regency is safe and under control, unlike what was reported in the media that Mimika Regency was not safe.

"So I hope that the government does not think that the Mimika Regency is chaotic, prone or conflict, there is no such thing," said the Mimika Regent. In October 2021, Mimika Regency became one of the clusters for PON XX Papua and hosted Pesparawi throughout Papua.
