BIN Now Called KKB Papua a Separatist and Terrorist Group

The head of the regional BIN (Kabinda) Papua, Brig. Gen. I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha died after a gun battle with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Beoga, Puncak Regency, Papua. The State Intelligence Agency (BIN) has now labeled the KKB as the Papua Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST).
 
"The shootout occurred as a result of the Papua Separatist and Terrorist Group (KST) intercepting and attacking the Kabinda group," said Deputy VII BIN Wawan Hari Purwanto in his statement, Monday (26/4/2021).

Brigadier General Putu died after being shot in the head. At that time, at around 15:50 WIT, Brigadier General Putu along with the BIN Task Force and the TNI-Polri Task Force who were on their way to Dambet Village were suddenly intercepted by the KKB group. It was then that a shootout took place around the Dambet Village church, Beoga, Puncak.

"As a result of the firing, the victim from the BIN Task Force, Kabinda Papua was shot in the back of the head and through the front of the head which resulted in the death of being Kusuma Bangsa," explained Wawan.

Kabinda Papua will be buried in the Heroes Cemetery (TMP) Kalibata, South Jakarta. Wawan said that Brigadier General Putu was an accomplished figure. Kabinda Papua also has a brilliant and hardworking career.

"Brigadier General I Gusti Putu Danny Karya Nugraha is known as a warm and accomplished figure. He is known to have had a brilliant career in his unit and worked hard. During his tenure, the deceased was also close to the community. Falling in the field of duty is the highest pride of intelligence personnel," he said.

Currently, the Separatist and Terrorist Groups are still in pursuit of the BIN Task Force.

As is known, the condition of Beoga in Puncak Regency, Papua, had heated up due to the actions of the Separatist and Terrorist Groups. During April, a number of people were killed and buildings vandalized by the group.
