Deputy Governor of Papua: Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory for the community around the XX PON Venue

Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal emphasized that residents in the area of ​​the four clusters organizing the XX National Sports Week (PON) match, namely Jayapura City and Regency, Mimika and Merauke Regency, must be vaccinated so that PON can take place safely from COVID-19.

"Before the four-year grand event is held, people in the four districts / cities must be vaccinated," said Deputy Governor of Klemen Tinal through the official website of PON 2020 Papua.

He hopes that people in Papua can also be involved in the interaction to support PON XX or sell accessories typical of Papua or others.

According to the Deputy Governor, apart from residents, athletes and officials from each province as well as the PON organizing committee in Papua are also required to receive vaccines before being involved in the PON XX Papua competition.

Previously, the Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali said that the COVID-19 vaccination was not only aimed at athletes ahead of the PON event but would also target people living around the location of the PON event.
