There is no more reason not to designate KSTP as a terrorist

The head of the Papua Regional BIN (Kabinda), Brig. Gen. Gusti Putu Danny Nugraha Karya died after a gun battle with the Papua Terrorist Separatist Group (KSTP) in Papua, Sunday afternoon (25/4).

Gusti Putu died in Dambet Village, Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua, at around 15:50 WIT.

The Chairperson of the Papuan Indigenous Youth, Jan Arebo, assessed that what the KSTP had done was barbaric and out of bounds. According to Jan, the existence of the KKB in Papua could no longer be tolerated by the State.

"I strongly condemn this action. Their outrage at the KSTP can no longer be tolerated by the state," said Jan, Sunday night (25/4).
The state, said Jan, must immediately decide KSTP as a terrorist organization.

"Immediately decide them (KSTP) as terrorists because they have deeply troubled the community. This is the victim of Kabinda Papua, Police Brigadier General I Putu Danny, shot to death. This is too much," added Jan.

Jan reiterated that there was no longer any reason for the state to decide the KKB as a terrorist organization.

"Immediately designate them as terrorists so that the TNI-Polri can quickly eradicate them," said Jan.

Kabinda Papua is known to have visited Dampet village at around 09.20 WIT, together with seven members using four motorbikes.

It was while in Dambet village that Brigadier General Putu Dani was shot and died from the gunshot wounds he sustained.

"It is true that Brigadier General Putu Dani, who served as Ka Binda, was reported to have died in Beoga, but until now there has been no complete report," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Mathius Fakhiri, Sunday (25/4).

Fakhiri said, until now there has been no complete report about the incident.

"But what is certain is that Monday (26/4) the body of Brigadier General Putu Dani will be evacuated to Timika," he explained.

The distance between Dambet and Beoga is about three kilometers and is the last village that was reportedly attacked by the KKB by burning people's houses and housing for teachers and elementary schools.
