2 KKB Terrorists Killed in Contact Shoot with TNI-Polri in Papua

KKB terrorists were involved in a shootout with the TNI-Polri Nemangkawi Task Force. Two members of the KKB (armed criminal group) were killed.

The shootout took place at the bridge of Mayuberi Village, Ilaga Utara District, Puncak, on Sunday (16/5/2021), at 03.19 WIT. The TNI-Polri shot three KKB terrorists from the Lekagak Talenggeng group, with two of them dead and one person running away under fire.

After the shooting, the Nemangkawi Task Force searched and found a number of evidence. The officers found two bodies of KKB members, 1 organic Moser 7.62 type weapon, 1 HT, 17 rounds of ammunition, 4 bullet casings, 1 Morning Star flag, up to Rp. 14,400,000.

"Today the Gakkum Nemangkawi Task Force will conduct TKP processing," said Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes Iqbal in a written statement.

The Mayuberi camp is currently controlled by the TNI-Polri. The Task Force continues to pursue the terrorist groups currently in the mini zone (Mimika, Intan Jaya, Nduga, and Ilaga / Puncak).

"The situation in the city of Puncak Regency, Ilaga City District is very conducive. Residents' activities are as usual, both church worship activities and market stalls crowded with sellers and buyers," said Iqbal. There were no victims from the community and the TNI-Polri in this firefight.
