Papua Police Chief Successfully Identified and Arrested 6 KKBs
The Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri, confirmed that he had identified and arrested 6 armed criminal groups (KKB) alive. These groups often carry out shootings and disturb the people.
"Law enforcement continues to be carried out considering that the shootings were very disturbing," he said, in Jayapura, Thursday (6/5/2021).
He said that the six groups now labeled terrorists were the leaders of Lekagak Telenggen and Egianus Kogoya. They are currently undergoing an intensive examination.
According to Mathius, to uncover armed groups, special steps are needed so that the perpetrators can be secured alive. That way, investigators can examine them and dig into their networks.
"The six groups are led by Lekagak Telenggen and Egianus Kogoya," he said.
Mathius also hopes that the armed group members will return to Mother Earth and mingle with other communities. So the authorities also encourage all elements of society, including the regional head, to participate.
"It is hoped that KKB members will be aware and willing to join other communities," he said.
