Urgent, OPM Terrorists Spread TNI Hoaxes Shoot 3 Women in Papua

The Joint Regional Defense Command (Kogabwilhan) III confirmed false information (hoax) that three women in Puncak Regency, Papua, were shot dead by the Indonesian military. The news circulated from an online media report.

"There is no such incident as reported," said Kapen Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suristiawa, Monday (17/5/2021).

The hoax news was spread by the Free Papua Organization (OPM). Suriastawa said the terrorist group OPM is supported by political and clandestine fronts, including journalists, media and social media activists who are active in spreading hoaxes to corner the government.

"If the OPM terrorists burn down schools, kill teachers and spread other forms of terror, their supporters will not comment on anything," he added.

This hoax was also shared by independent pro-Papua activist, Veronica Koman, via Twitter. Suriastawa said this hoax was spread by OPM terrorist supporters to slander the joint TNI-Polri team.

"That is their link, at least there are 2 online media whose chief executive has very intense relations with the Koman. Every propaganda published by the supporting media for the OPM terrorist group is always the material for the tweet," said Suriastawa.

According to him, opinion raising through hoaxes was made to attract public attention. In addition to the military hoax of shooting 3 women, supporters of the OPM terrorists spread slander about the destruction of the Kingmi Church with the aim of provoking church congregations, both local, national and international.

According to him, the oppression of the OPM terrorist group provoked a response from its supporters to spread slander and fake news.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombes M Iqbal Alqudussy also confirmed that the news was a hoax. He appealed to the public not to be provoked by the news spread by KKB terrorist supporters because law enforcement is carried out in a firm and measured manner.

"I am currently in Ilaga with the Dandim and Kapolres and the news published by the media (mentioning an online media) is fake news," Iqbal said in the same statement.

It is known that the government has designated the KKB armed criminal group as terrorists since April 29, 2021. The TNI-Polri have continued to pursue and take action because the armed front of the OPM continues to spread terror to the community, including the world of education and civil aviation.

Recently, the TNI-Polri Joint Team has arrested the provocateurs of rioting, supporting OPM terrorists, Victor Yeimo, taking control of the terrorist headquarters of the Lekagak Talenggen group in Wuloni and Tagalowa, Ilaga District. Not long after, in Ilaga District, several members of the OPM terrorists were shot by the joint team and there were also 3 people who surrendered.
