Billy Mambrasar Invites Papuans to Support Otsus for the Success of PON

Special Staff (Stafsus) of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Billy Mambrasar interprets special autonomy (otsus) as an effort to develop Papua. In addition to building infrastructure in the region, through special autonomy human resources (HR) can also be developed.

"When we talk about special autonomy, we talk about development and renewal. The current development in the second period focuses on involving indigenous Papuans to build themselves and prosper themselves in order to participate in building Indonesia from Papua," said Billy in Jakarta, Thursday ( 3/6).

For that, he invites all parties, especially the people of Papua and West Papua, to continue to support the special autonomy program. This is for the betterment of the Land of Papua and the people in it.

"Therefore, special autonomy is continued to give full privileges to indigenous Papuans to develop. Opportunities are wide open for anyone, let's support this development," said Billy.

Moreover, President Jokowi has issued Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2020 concerning the acceleration of the welfare-based development of Papua and West Papua for indigenous Papuans. The policy, he said, once again shows the central government's concern and alignment with the Papuan people.

Apart from Papua, the central government is now also involving the Papuan people to jointly build the nation, through a number of programs.

"We have seen many results, Papuan children have participated in building this country, starting from scientists, art performers, social workers, as well as those who have just been recruited by 1,000 people in BUMN or those who have been recruited in the state civil apparatus," said Billy.

"Opportunities are wide open for all of us, the children of Papua are building. So I invite us to support the development process, let's make it a success and let's take care of this diversity together. Papuans," he continued.

The concern of the central government, said Billy, was also shown through the implementation of PON in Papua. The presence of PON in the region has also contributed to the acceleration of various developments in Papua. Therefore, he invites all parties, including the people of Papua, to make the inter-provincial sports event a success.

"Let all components of Papuan society, aunts, grandmothers, fathers, mothers, uncles, and aunts. Especially for brothers and sisters who have creativity and SMEs, we encourage them to become suppliers in the PON event. We encourage young Papuan athletes to become children. "Children who compete, we encourage creative economy actors to participate in promoting this good thing. We also encourage those who are involved in the creative and digital economy sector, namely YouTubers, we make this PON event a success," said Billy.

"And most importantly to the event organizers and also the volunteers who will take part in the D-day to support the implementation of the PON, we guarantee and we encourage Safe Papua to accommodate all provinces in the 2021 PON later to participate in competing. And after the PON takes place there will be a multiple impact or multiplier effect that will leave a legacy, which will leave a development legacy that encourages accelerated development," he continued.
