The Lapago Customary Council Condemns the Plan of Action for the Demo of Plh. Governor

A number of Lapago traditional leaders issued a statement of attitude and strongly criticized the actions of some people who were considered excessive in responding to the status of implementing the task (Plh) of the Papua Governor, which was currently being carried out by the Regional Secretary of Papua, Dance Yulian Flassy.

"I said it was not good for yesterday (the action against residents). I, as chairman of the Lapago customary council, Papua Province, said that there should be no demonstrations," said the chairman of the Lapago Customary Council of Papua Province, Agus Rawa Kogoya in Sereh Village, Sentani, Saturday (26/6).

According to him, the appointment of the Papua Regional Secretary as Plh. The Governor of Papua, actually there is nothing to be questioned by the community. Because, it is temporary and does not replace the governor. Therefore, he asked the public to understand the status and duties of daily implementers, so that they are not wrong in responding to them.

"Luke, he is still governor, no one replaces him (Luke Enembe) anymore. The government program, because he was sick, so (appointed) Plh," he explained.

Agus believes such conditions will occur everywhere. For example, when the governor is absent, a deputy can be appointed as Plh, or when the deputy governor is sick or unavailable, the Regional Secretary will be appointed as Plh.

"Otherwise, it can be assistant 1, that's normal. All the articles and verses are in there (government regulations)," he said.

For this reason, he asked all Papuans, especially Lapago residents, not to be provoked by untrue or misguided information. In fact, he also asked that this condition should not be used for the interests of certain groups.

"So from that interest, we in Papua have many victims, both from officials and from the community," he said.

“The governor is clear, Luke Enembe. Who said no. But pity, he as a human, he was sick so six months he could not enter. So who else serves (the community) in the governor's office, rather than a vacancy, so that the regional secretary is appointed as Plh," he continued.

Accordingly, according to him, the demonstration plan which will be carried out by a group of people on Monday (28/6), should not be carried out. Because it only causes casualties and has an impact on the disturbance of Kamtibmas in Papua.

For this reason, he asked members of the security forces in Papua, particularly the Jayapura Police, Jayapura Police and Papuan Police, to take a firm stance against the people who are trying to disrupt Kamtibmas in Papua.
