CONTINUATION OF OTSUS VOLUME II IN PAPUA LAND

On July 14, 2021 at 11.00 WIT in Warmare District, Kab. Manokwari, Semmy Indouw (Warmare District Youth Leader) confirmed that he supports the continuation of Special Autonomy Volume II in Papua. He said that this Special Autonomy had a very positive impact on the people of Papua, especially in the fields of infrastructure development, health and education. Special Autonomy Volume II also needs to be revised in its management section so that the Papuan people in remote areas can feel the impact.

"Otsus is expected to be right on target because previously Otsus was considered to have minimal impact, especially for the people of West Papua. Improvement of human resources is still minimal, especially for youth groups in Warmare District. It is hoped that in the future, Otsus Volume II can touch aspects of human resource development in addition to basic infrastructure development, especially in the Warmare District, Kab. Manokwari," he said.

“Regarding the existence of other groups or parties who reject Otsus because it is considered that Otsus has failed, the submission is considered reasonable. However, eliminating Otsus is also a very fatal mistake and the demonstrations that often occur in Amban and its surroundings are not driven by youth groups, especially from Warmare District, Kab. Manokwari, West Papua Province,” he added.

"As a youth leader, I support Otsus Volume II to be continued in Papua and am willing to invite the Papuan people, especially youth groups in the Warmare District, to support the sustainability of Otsus," he concluded.
