PB PON Papua will prepare 25 thousand noken

The Papua National Sports Week (PB PON) Grand Committee will prepare 25 thousand noken which will be distributed to athletes, officials and guests who will come to Bumi Cenderawasih in October 2021.

The Daily Chair of PB PON Papua Province Yunus Wonda in Jayapura, Thursday, said these nokens would be given to athletes and officials when they arrived at Sentani Airport as a form of appreciation.

"So this noken is not given to everyone who comes to Papua during the PON, but specifically for athletes and officials," he said.

According to Yunus, the nokens he wore were filled with PON XX Papua mascot dolls such as Drawa and Kangpo.

"So in addition to the noken transfer at Sentani Airport, it will also be carried out at Timika Airport and Merauke Airport," he said.

He explained that PB PON had socialized the use of noken to the public, and to provide it required cooperation from Papuan mamas who made this noken.

"We also provide space or space in each of the PON arenas in four clusters for Papuan women to sell their noken," he said again.

So that guests who come to Papua and want to bring home souvenirs in the form of noken, he said, can directly buy them at each PON arena in the four organizing clusters.
