OTSUS IMPROVES LIFESTYLE OF NATURAL PAPUA PEOPLE

The Youth Leader of the Arfak Mountains Regency, Domi Saiba, gave his support for the sustainability of Special Autonomy (Otsus) which has been going on for 20 years in Papua. He expressed this when met at his home on Wednesday (14/7/21).

The existence of Otsus so far is considered to have provided great benefits for indigenous Papuans (OAP), the people of the Arfak Mountains Regency are also given special autonomy funds as the right solution for improving the economy, education and public health.

The people of the Arfak Mountains Regency themselves are still actively participating in voicing support for Otsus Volume II through the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) and the Indonesian Bible Christian Youth Movement (GPKAI).

"Otsus itself in its implementation has greatly helped the Papuan people in improving their standard of living, many Otsus programs have directly touched the community in the fields of education, health, economy, quality of human resources, as well as the development of other supporting infrastructure," said Domi

He hopes that Otsus will continue by optimizing the function of monitoring and evaluating Otsus in the regions. In addition, in its implementation, Otsus is expected to prioritize programs that directly touch the community, such as improving human resources and the community's economy.
