Trust me, PON Papua will be successful and safe

Preparations for holding PON in Papua on October 2-15 2021 have entered the final stage.

The head of the Central KONI, Lt. Gen. of the TNI (Ret.) Marciano Norman, hopes that the regional KONI will also convey the results and preparations that have been made.

Thus, the echo before the implementation of the Papua PON will be heard even more.

"The echoes of the Papuan PON must be heard throughout Indonesia so that people can follow what their local athletes have done." Marciano said.

According to him, the public must be filled with information that inspires enthusiasm in the midst of the corona virus pandemic (covid-19).

Marciano added that the implementation of the Papua PON will also implement very strict health protocols.

The same thing has been done at the inauguration of the Indonesian contingent that will compete in the Tokyo Olympics.

"I always use the Tokyo Olympics as a reference to keep going well at the Papua PON," said Marciano.

He also hopes that news about regional athletes will continue to be echoed.

Thus, the people of an area can find out their representatives who are competing in the Papua PON.

"So, it must be supported by a good broadcasting system," explained Marciano.

He is also optimistic that PON Papua will run smoothly, safely, comfortably and successfully.

He believes that the governor of Papua, the Pangdam of Cenderawasih, the head of the Papuan police, and the entire community are determined to be good hosts.

"They will work together to maintain a safe and comfortable security situation in Papua for all athletes who come to Papua," said Marciano.
