WITHOUT OTSUS PAPUA'S YOUNG GENERATION WILL NOT HAVE A FUTURE

Special Autonomy in the Land of Papua based on Law no. 21 of 2001 is considered to have had a positive impact on society, especially for OAP. This was acknowledged by Fahrun Badrun, as the Student President of the Muhammadiyah Education University, Kab. Sorong, who hopes that the community will fully support the Government's program for the progress of the Land of Papua.

"Otsus is a government program that has been running well and provides great benefits to OAP and because of Otsus I can also study," he said.

Otsus is still very much needed to accelerate development in Papua and West Papua, both in the fields of education, health, infrastructure, people's economy and affirmation for OAP.

He explained that the central and regional governments have been trying to improve the welfare of the Papuan people. These efforts were carried out starting from improving supporting infrastructure to assistance to stimulate community economic growth, the strategy was carried out in the form of a special Autonomy policy.

Those who say they reject Otsus are those who think that the Government has not been able to prosper the Papuan people, even though that statement is completely untrue.

“I gave an example in the economic field, even though I have seen the government always provide facilities such as building a special market for Papuan mothers, providing carts for selling and much more. But all of that will be in vain if the OAP itself has no interest in entrepreneurship," he said

Therefore, he gave input to the Government to create a program that can increase interest in entrepreneurship, especially for OAP, which is still considered very low.

He invited the OAP community, especially the younger generation who live in the Kab. Sorong, to support the sustainability of Otsus, because so many benefits of Otsus have been proven and felt by the community.
