Yapen Local Government Proposes DAK for Port Rehabilitation of IDR 21 Billion



The Regional Government of the Yapen Islands Regency proposed a special allocation fund (DAK) of Rp. 21 billion for port rehabilitation or improvement of sea transportation facilities in its territory.

This budget proposal was revealed by the Head of the Program Planning Sub Division of the Yapen Islands Regency Transportation Service, Rasit Wayangkau, ST after a meeting with the Ministry of Sea Transportation at the Bali Resort Hotel, Thursday 18 November 2021.

"We discussed this at a meeting with the Ministry of Transportation, Sub-Directorate General of Land Transportation and Sea Transportation. In total, what we budgeted for the points of the work plan was more than Rp. 21 billion," said Rasit to KabarPapua.co, Friday, November 19, 2021.

Rasit said that the proposed special allocation fund to the Central Government amounting to Rp. 21 billion would be used for port rehabilitation and transportation improvement in Yapen Islands Regency.

"The funding requirement of Rp21 billion is the construction of transportation vessels for the Kabuena area and its surroundings, the rehabilitation of the Kaboena Pier and the rehabilitation of the Poom Port (North Yapen)," said Rasit.

Rasit hopes that the proposal will be responded to and realized as soon as possible. "Of course, with the development and rehabilitation of a proper port, it will also be more convenient for users of sea transportation services from Serui and vice versa," said Rasit.
