The government is considered very helpful in accelerating development and improving the quality of sustainable resources in Papua. So that it also affects the increase in the economy.

"The large amount (budget) that has been transferred to Papua and West Papua is a manifestation of the high commitment of the central government. And it has a very good impact on Papua's progress and economic recovery," said former chairman of the Jayapura Regency Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hengky H Jokhu in his statement, Wednesday (1/12/2021).
 
He said the funding for Papua and West Papua was very large, including the Special Autonomy Fund and additional infrastructure funds. "Everything boils down to improving the economy and overcoming the problem of inequality and isolation in Papua, including in the education sector," he said.

In addition, the government also continues to encourage the acceleration of massive infrastructure development, the development of superior and characterized human resources (HR) through higher education and special training, as well as support for the management of special autonomy funds.
 
"The Central Government's commitment to the progress of Papua and West Papua is not just a discourse, but has become a development program that has been applied. We appreciate the commitment that we feel for welfare, especially when it has an impact on economic recovery during the pandemic," he said.
 
In addition, the successful implementation of PON XX and Peparnas XVI Papua and the provision of various supporting infrastructures can provide social and economic benefits to the people of Papua and its surroundings.

"I hope this will be a development momentum for Papua, especially to create improvements in human resources and welfare as well as encourage sectors and lines of the economy to bounce back," he said.
