Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih helps secure Christmas worship in Papua



Soldiers from the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command and all units were deployed to assist the National Police in securing the Christmas service throughout Papua Province, Saturday.

Head of Information for Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf. Aqsha Erlangga in a statement in Jayapura explained that all members of Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih and their ranks were involved in securing the Christmas service to assist the Police.

"This security is in order to provide comfort, peace and solemnity to the community when carrying out Christmas worship," he also said.

Kapendam acknowledged that this activity was an effort from the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command so that the community could carry out Christmas worship in a peaceful, safe, comfortable manner and increase togetherness and maintain religious tolerance.

In addition to providing security assistance, according to Kapendam, Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih soldiers also appealed to the public to always comply with health protocols during worship to break the chain of spread of COVID-19.

Kapendam also wished all Christians a Merry Christmas in all regions of Papua Province who were celebrating.

"We wish you a Merry Christmas. May the love that moves brotherhood and the love of Christmas be with us all and God bless you," said the Kapendam.
