Papuan Academics Reveal Foreign Missions Behind the Morning Star Issue

Foreign Relations expert from Papua Province and academic from Cenderawasih University Marinus Yaung stated that the issue of the Morning Star Flag and Free Papua wanted to kill the Papuan people.

According to him, the issue was deliberately played out in order to extract the abundance of wealth from Bumi Cenderawasih, including the lobby of Benny Wenda, the United Libertion Movemant off West Papua (ULMWP) abroad.

"The issue of Papua, Benny Wenda, ULMWP, is only part of the geostrategy of superpower countries in the Pacific and African regions, to realize their interests in Indonesia," said Marinus, Wednesday (1/12/2021)

False support or double standards from foreign countries such as Australia, on the one hand respects the Lombok Treaty with Indonesia, but on the other hand lets its big cities become the basis of political campaigns for an independent Papua.

"Australia plays double standard politics in the Papua issue, because Australia has an interest in protecting British interests in the Tangguh Bintuni LNG, and the interests of the United States in Freeport Mimika, Papua," he stressed.

When there were arrests and murders of Papuans who brought up the issue of an independent Papua, the Australian, British, and United States parties were even engrossed in dancing to drain the bowels of the earth of Papua.

"I'm afraid that because of the low literacy of the Papuan people, the issue of an independent Papua and the issue of the Morning Star will actually rob Papua of the future. The issue of the Morning Star and an independent Papua is only camouflage and manipulation," he explained.

The Papua Special Autonomy Law, political contracts, and Papuan state contracts with Indonesia are valid and have strong legal standing in the eyes of the law.

Meanwhile, for the action of raising the Morning Star flag in front of the Cenderawasih Sports Center this afternoon. Marinus said that Papua is Tanah Merah Putih, not the Morning Star and has been final since November 19, 1969.

“The land of Papua is legal and final in the eyes of international law. If the Morning Star wants to be forced to replace the Red and White, then this action is considered a violation of international law and the UN charter," he concluded.
