Deputy Minister of PUPR: Wamena-Jayapura Road Completes 2023

Deputy Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (Wamen PUPR) John Wempi Wetipo said the construction of the Trans Papua Wamena-Jayapura Road was planned to be completed in 2023.

"There is still approximately 75 kilometers of the Wamena-Jayapura route that will be worked on," said John.
 
According to John, from 75 kilometers long, 25 kilometers will be completed next year which is already included in the budget. While the remaining 50 kilometers will be completed in 2023.

He explained, the connectivity of the Trans Papua Road is approximately 130 kilometers which has not been connected. "Others are already connected, but there are still substandard quality," said John.

He added that in the future the PUPR Ministry hopes that in the process it will pay attention to its weight by testing its structure.

For your information, the Trans Papua Wamena-Jayapura road is 575 kilometers long. The boundary between Balai Jayapura and Wamena reaches kilometer 320, to be precise in the Benawa District. Then at kilometer 320 to 575.14 to Wamena, it is the Wamena Hall area. For its functionality, until 2020, the remaining 75.14 kilometers of trans-paved roads are in the Wamena Hall area.
