Disaster Point Detection, Papua Provincial Government Launches Simdip Application

The Papuan Provincial Government, officially launched the Disaster Management Information Data Management System (Simdip) application for Pusdalops PB at the Papua Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Office, Jalan Megapura Skyline, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City.

Head of BPBD Papua, Welliam Manderi said the disaster data information system developed by Pusdalops Papua is an important program.

"With this system, it is believed that all people can more easily access information such as early warnings of disaster events, and weather forecasts as well as risks to these disasters," he explained.

According to him, this gives its own role in developing the resources and equipment used.

"All of this is driven by all stakeholders, be it the government, the business world, academia, the community and the media, where we will collaborate with each other so that the system can be implemented properly," said Manderi in his speech, in Jayapura, Tuesday (25/01/ 2022).

These efforts cannot be separated from the support of all parties, for this reason all of these can answer public complaints about the speed and accuracy and accuracy of the information submitted relating to disaster management.

"This is a challenge in itself how we can develop a system so that people get accurate information," he said.

In addition to developing this information system, said Manderi, currently BPBD Papua is working with BNPB RI in developing Call Center 117.

"We are starting to do that, and this time at BPBD Papua and Nabire and we are also dealing with disasters, we are also adding pusdalops in the field, namely in Nabire and Mambramo Raya," he explained.

According to Manderi, all efforts will be made so that some of these regions can assist in providing information related to data information systems and disaster management management.

"With all of this, it is hoped that disaster management in Papua can be more effective, efficient and faster," he said.

From the various existing innovations, BPBD will develop an application called Papua Rist.

"Hopefully in the near future, this application will be issued and provide information to the public via Android, for example with this application, we can find out what happened in the Youtefa market, and when we are at the Youtefa market, the application will explain that you are in the area with threats. the danger of such a disaster," he concluded.
