Lapago Customary Leader Asks Government to Appoint Acting Governor of Papua
The head of the Lapago Indigenous Region in the Central Mountains of Papua Province, Agus Rawa Kogoya, asked the central government to appoint an Acting Governor in Papua.
"The central government has appointed a leader, so that the rights of yesterday's PON issue can be resolved," said Agus Rawa Kogoya, Saturday (8/1/2022).
He said the issue after the implementation of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) was still not over. Among them, the fulfillment of the rights of workers and small entrepreneurs related to the implementation of PON.
"Many complained, it was resolved quickly, PON is not without funds. There are funds, but where?" he said.
"We, the leaders, ask to immediately appoint the acting governor, while Mr. Lukas is getting treatment," he continued.
He views that so much funds from the center have been sent to Papua. However, the management is abused. "For that, it is necessary to check, as a result of them, the community is neglected," he said.
For him, regarding the request for the appointment of the Acting Governor of Papua, it is far from tribal sentiments from mountains and beaches. "There are no mountains or beaches, but because the people want the best service from the governor," said Agus Rawa.
Previously, traditional leaders in Jayapura Regency, urged the Ministry of Home Affairs to appoint the Acting Governor of Papua because they are considered weak in managing the government.
Luke is known to be undergoing treatment. In some events, he looks unfit. For example, when attending the Grand Opening and Inauguration of a hotel in Jayapura City, some time ago.
Governor Lukas limped along while cutting the ribbon accompanied by the Regent of Jayapura Regency, Mathius Awoitauw and Assistant II of the Jayapura City Secretariat, Nurjainuddin Konu.
"Currently the condition of the Governor of Papua is sick and needs treatment," said Jackob Fiobetauw, Chairman of the Sentani Tribal Court of Jayapura Regency, in Abepura, Tuesday.
Indigenous figures ask for Lukas to be replaced before March 2022.
According to Jackob, their insistence is normal. At first, they demanded that the government pay for the use of communal land in Jayapura Regency, which was used to hold PON XX Papua. However, if the Papuan government is unable, the government or governor must be filled with someone who is trustworthy and responsible.
Spokesman for the Governor of Papua, Muhammad Rifai Darus said Governor Lukas, as a citizen, has the same right to obtain health fulfillment in various ways, both prevention and healing.
The treatment process for Lukas, said Rifai, had followed the procedures according to the provisions of the legislation.
"This includes getting permission from the Minister of Home Affairs to carry out medical check-ups to coincide with the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays," said Muhammad Rifai Darus.
