Ministry of Finance: Government allocates IDR 84.7 trillion for Papua in 2022

Director of General Transfer Funds at the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance at the Ministry of Finance, Adriyanto, revealed that the government has budgeted IDR 84.7 trillion for the provinces of Papua and West Papua in 2022.

"This value is up from 2020, which amounted to Rp. 79.7 trillion, but it is down slightly from last year's Rp. 85.8 trillion because there is a central expenditure called the National Economic Recovery Fund (PEN) in 2021," said Adriyanto at the Papua 2022 RIPP Preparation Meeting. -2041 monitored in Jakarta, Monday.

The budget for Papua and West Papua in 2022 consists of IDR 12.9 trillion of special autonomy funds (otsus) plus additional infrastructure funds (DTI), transfer funds to regions and village funds (TKDD) of IDR 50.2 trillion, and expenditures for ministries or institutions. amounting to Rp. 21.6 trillion.

The total funds of Rp. 84.7 trillion were divided for the Province of West Papua in the amount of Rp. 27.24 trillion and for Papua of Rp. 57.41 trillion.

"If we look there, there are already quite large ministries or agencies spending in 2021, in total there will be IDR 21.6 trillion. He advised that the central and regional governments of Papua should not carry out the same two activities or programs so that government spending becomes inefficient.

"Of course, if the sum of large expenditure funds is good, but if we do the same thing, there is an excess of activities, we need to guard this. So there should not be excessive activities that cause inefficiency in project implementation and budget use," he said.

The government is currently preparing the Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development (RIPP) for Papua 2022-2041.

RIPP Papua 2022-2041 is based on Law Number 2 of 2021 concerning Special Autonomy for the Papua Province and Government Regulation Number 107 of 2021 concerning Reception, Management, Supervision, and Master Plan for the Acceleration of Development in the Framework of the Implementation of Special Autonomy for the Province of Papua.
