The regent of Yahukimo Didikus Yahuli also said that his area had become a vulnerable area due to repeated disturbances from separatist groups, as well as the outbreak of horizontal conflicts involving two major ethnic groups, which were feared to disrupt community activities in general.

"We both need to know that the situation in Yahukimo had become a red area. Conflicts are happening everywhere, it's very worrying. So with all efforts for a conducive situation, it is necessary to bring in additional Brimob," said the Regent.

This statement was made by the Regent, Didikus Yahuli, in response to a demonstration by a number of high school students who suddenly voiced their demands to withdraw the Brimob assignment from Yahukimo.

"I really appreciate the performance of the Police in handling the conflict in Yahukimo, I thank you for carrying out their duties well, providing security protection here," he added.

The Regent even admitted that he deeply regretted the demonstrations carried out by the students with a one-sided perspective. Because according to him, it is not an easy matter to accommodate a residence for the security forces on duty in Yahukimo.

"In the past, when the riots occurred, even the police dormitory arrived at the place of many people to seek protection. It's just that at this time it is not an easy matter to provide facilities even though it is only a halfway house for Brimob members who are just about to serve,"

Not without reason, the Regent who claimed to be responsible for his instructions to maximize the hall of the school building so that it could be used temporarily by Brimob, because the teaching and learning process for school students had not been fully implemented properly.

"School has also not been running as it should, so we ourselves asked for Brimob members to temporarily occupy the school hall, besides it was only temporary. What I did was not for any particular interest, we have all discussed it together,"

Didimus Yahuli then asked all parties not to question the previous events. Because according to him, the news of the rejection of the presence of security forces in Yahukimo was only caused by provocations by groups who did not like the TNI-Polri.

"Of course I am very disappointed, but it can't be helped the students are our children. So now we ask that the previous incident is no longer a problem, it was only a provocation by a certain group,"
