Papuan KKB Terrorists Spread Hoax TNI Soldiers Persecute Residents in Intan Jaya

Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih emphasized that the news that said civilians in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, were being tortured by TNI soldiers and the residents' houses were occupied by TNI soldiers was fake news or hoaxes. This false news was deliberately blown by a group of the Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) who wanted to cause unrest in the Papua region.

"The Separatist Terrorist Group (KST) has again spread false news or hoaxes on social media and online media about reports that civilians in Intan Jaya were being tortured and their houses occupied by TNI soldiers," said Kapendam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel Inf Aqsha Erlangga, Thursday, February 10, 2022.

According to Aqsha, after being investigated by leaders in the Intan Jaya area, information and confessions were obtained from figures in the Sugapa District, named Boi Japugau and Agus Selegani, who revealed that there had been no beatings of residents in Sugapa as reported by an online media.
 
"There was no beating of residents in Sugapa as reported by one of the media," he said

In the same place, Agus Selegani said that no TNI members beat people in Sugapa. "Even now, there are no houses occupied by the TNI that are used as posts or bases," said Agus Selegani.

Kapendam Colonel Aqsa Erlangga reiterated that the news was not true or was hoax news. Because after further investigation and coordination with related parties, no houses inhabited by the TNI were found in the Intan Jaya area.

"Currently TNI-Polri officers occupy their respective posts and bases according to the orders and instructions of the leadership, and there are no TNI posts located in residents' homes," explained Kapendam.

"So don't believe what the KST gang is saying. It's just a terrorist group, so they talk only to spread terror to create fear in the community. Hoax news is always spread by KST and we regret it," he stressed.

Kapendam added that the current situation in the Intan Jaya area is in a safe and conducive condition. In fact, the youths in the Sugapa District, Bilogai Village and Yokatapa Village, were playing soccer on the soccer field in Bilogai Village, Sugapa Intan Jaya District.
