Peak Gradually Recovers, Regent Invites Residents to Return to Activities
Puncak Regent Willem Wandik SE, MSi invited Puncak residents, especially those in Ilaga, to return to their normal activities because conditions have gradually become conducive.
The invitation was conveyed by the Regent of Wandik during a visit to the Traditional Market in Ilaga, Wednesday (02/02/2022).
Previously, the situation in Ilaga City and its surroundings was not conducive after the death of three Indonesian Army soldiers who were attacked by the KKB, 27 January 2022.
The regent of Wandik came to the market to buy garden produce that was sold by the mothers and at the same time saw firsthand the situation in the market.
At the Market, the Regent found that the atmosphere was already crowded, indicating that the residents had a desire that the conditions in Ilaga be safe and conducive so that they were free to sell in the market.
“A few days ago I went to the market but it was still quiet. Today it is extraordinary that people are starting to bring vegetables to the market, this indicates that security conditions are gradually recovering, although they are relatively safe, because we need to be vigilant, especially for TNI/Polri officers," said Regent Wandik.
Apart from the market, the general situation in Ilaga City is gradually recovering.
''Yes, from observations, activities in Puncak Regency are gradually starting to become conducive, this is evidenced by the economic activity in the Ilaga market which is starting to be busy with traders and buyers, selling stalls are opened, and government offices have also started their activities. Even though not all employees have entered the office, motorcycle taxi drivers have also begun to transport passengers, even though they are still confined to the city,'' explained the Regent.
Regarding the security conditions in the Aminggaru Ilaga Airport area, the Regent ensured that starting Thursday, February 3, 2022, airlines will resume serving flights.
"I have established communication with all parties, including tribal chiefs, armed groups, TNI/Polri, pastors, hopefully, all of us pray that the flights will be able to return to Ilaga," he said.
Aminggaru Airport is a vital facility because it is the only entry to Puncak Regency, if the airport is closed it will have an impact on the economy, government and other aspects.
To note, since Saturday, January 29 and Monday January 31, Air Nav Indonesia as the party managing the airport has issued a ban for airlines temporarily not entering Aminggaru Ilaga Airport, due to security considerations.
