Preventing Covid-19 Transmission in Schools, Binda Papua Barat Intensify Child Vaccination
The West Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Binda) held a Covid-19 vaccination for children aged 6 to 11 years in Manokwari Regency.
Vaccination is held in order to support the implementation of face-to-face learning (PTM).
Head of Binda West Papua, Brigadier General Bayu Sasetyo said the type of vaccine used was Sinovac.
He hopes that vaccination can prevent the spread of the corona virus in schools.
"In addition to supporting face-to-face learning, we carry out vaccination of our children to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the school environment," Bayu said in a statement received, Tuesday (1/2/2022).
He confirmed that he would continue to intensify the vaccination program for children.
Especially for grade 6 elementary school students who have attended PTM every day.
"Especially for the 6th grade of elementary school, which is now entering every day to meet the final school exams," said Bayu.
Furthermore, Bayu said vaccinations were also held simultaneously in nine other regions.
These include Kaimana Regency, Fakfak, Bintuni Bay, Wondama Bay, Raja Ampat, South Manokwari, South Sorong, Sorong, and Sorong City.
Matthew Rumfabe, a resident of Raja Ampat Regency expressed his gratitude for the Covid-19 vaccination that was held.
He assessed that the community was enthusiastic about participating in vaccination activities.
"Thank you to all those who carried out the vaccination, especially Binda West Papua. Praise God, this activity was welcomed by the people of Raja Ampat Regency," said Matthew.
