Association of Regents of the Central Highlands of Papua regrets the attack in Beoga
The Central Highlands Regents Association of Papua regrets that the attack in Beoga District, Puncak Regency resulted in eight workers of PT Palapa Timur Telematika (PTT) who were repairing Tower B3 were killed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) on Wednesday (2/3).
Head of the Association of Central Highlands Regents of Papua, Befa Yigibalom, in a press release in Jayapura, Friday, said that there are still many isolated areas in Bumi Cenderawasih that need a touch of development and not many people want to work in remote areas.
"Therefore, I deeply regret the inhumane actions that have actually made the workers who are working in isolated areas become victims," said Befa, who is also the Regent of Lanny Jaya.
According to Befa, this act was highly commendable, because it spilled the blood of people who worked to open up Papua's isolation but were brutally killed.
"(KKB) should be dealing with those who have weapons as well as the TNI-Polri, why are civilians being slaughtered," he said again.
He explained that when the blood of innocent people is shed, that is a curse declared, so cursed is anyone who sheds the blood of innocent people.
Previously, eight telecommunications network workers were killed by KKB in Beoga District, Puncak Regency, Papua, Wednesday (2/3).
The victims were attacked while repairing Telkomsel's Tower Base Transceiver Station (BTS) 3, which is located at an altitude and there is no road access.
