Papuan KKB Act Again, Burn School Buildings and Persecute 2 Civilians
The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) has again carried out anarchic actions. This time, they set fire to the one-roof elementary-junior high school building and persecuted civilians in the Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said the action was carried out by the Armed Criminal Group led by Undius Kogoya and Aibon Kogoya.
“Not only did they burn down the school building, they also assaulted two civilians. One of them is a teacher at a school that they burnt," Kamal told reporters, Jakarta, Thursday (31/3/2022).
Kamal explained that the incident started at 17.50 WIT. At that time, members saw a puff of smoke coming from the direction of Hitadipa Village. Related to this, the members then carried out an investigation and it was found that the KKB had burned the Hitadipa one-roof school building.
According to witness testimony, Kamal said, at 16.30 WIT a group of about tens of KKB people entered Hitadipa Village and then set fire to the YPPGI One-Roof School - SMP N 2 Hitadipa building totaling 9 classes.
Kamal added that after arson and subsequent persecution, the KKB group fled from Hitadipa Village.
"Members of the TNI-Polri in Intan Jaya have blocked the KKB route to enter Sugapa City and also carried out security around vital objects," concluded Kamal.
