A total of 7,500 Biak Pintar Cards will be distributed to students

The Biak Numfor Regency Government, Papua, in 2022 will immediately distribute the Biak Smart Card (KBP) education program to 7,500 school students in the region.

"The gift of the Biak Smart Card in the form of an educational scholarship will be symbolically handed over in the near future," said Biak Numfor Regent Herry Ario Naap in a written statement received on Sunday.

Of the 7,500 recipients, the Biak Smart Card was given at all levels of education focused on 2022 to children whose parents judged that they were not capable.

Regent Herry Naap mentioned that the allocation of KBP in 2022 for each level of education includes 1500 children for Kindergarten/PAUD, 2500 elementary school students, 2O00 junior high school students, and 1500 high school/vocational school students.

Regent Herry Naap prepares quality children from an early age through education as one of the long-term development investments so that it becomes one of the serious concerns of the Biak Numfor Regency Government in preparing quality human resources.

Basically, the implementation of education programs in Biak Numfor Regency, according to Regent Herry Naap, has been going well.

"It's just a matter of improving and improving the things that are considered lacking. One of our flagship programs is the Biak Smart Card, and this will be launched in the near future," he said.

He admitted, the Biak Smart Card program had actually been carried out in the last two years, but due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the reduced allocation of Special Autonomy funds to the Biak Numfor Regency, the Biak Numfor Regency Government would realize the 2022 program.

"Of course, the Biak Smart card program in the education sector will continue to be carried out continuously in the future," said the Regent.

Regent Herry Naap said the number for the Biak Smart Card program in 2023 would be increased.

Even the Biak Numfor Regency Government will consider going to university level.

"It's just that, for universities, studies will still be carried out, whether special students studying in Biak or other considerations in accordance with budgetary capabilities," he said.
