Governor of West Papua and 3 Regents Inaugurate the Office of the Regional Council of GPKAI Catubouw

Governor of West Papua, Drs Dominggus Mandacan MSi, Regent of Arfak Mountains, Yosias Saroy SH MH, Regent of Manokwari, Hermus Indou SIP MH, and Regent of South Manokwari Markus Waran ST MSi, and Chairman of the General Assembly of the GPKAI Synod, Rev. Daniel Sukan MTh inaugurated the Regional Assembly Office GPKAI Catubouw, Catubouw District, Arfak Mountains Regency, 02 April 2022.

The inauguration, which was continued with the laying of the first stone in the GPKAI Catubouw Regional Assembly hall, was carried out in the form of a thanksgiving service.

This activity was also attended by, among others, the Chair of the West Papua DPR, Orgenes Wonggor, the Chair of the Wondama Bay DPRD, the Chair of the Wondama Bay DPRD Herman Sawasemariay, Assistant II Papua Bafat, Head of West Papua Social Affairs, Karo Welfare, and Karo Administration for West Papua Leaders.

According to the Head of the Inauguration of the Catubouw GPKAI Regional Assembly Office, Edward Dowansiba, the construction of this office cost Rp1,685 billion.

The funds came from the assistance of various parties, including the West Papua Provincial Government of Rp. 1.3 billion and the Pegaf Regency Government of Rp. 100 million.

According to the Head of the GPKAI Catubouw Regional Assembly Office Development Committee, Melkianus Dowansiba, the construction of this office will begin in 2019.

The office with a building width of 30 meters and a length of 75 meters was planned to be inaugurated in 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding the construction of the hall, he said it needed a budget of around Rp. 1.5 billion.
