Mimika opens 32 vaccination posts during Ramadan
The Mimika District Health Office in collaboration with the TNI, Polri, Port Health Office, the Papua Education and Health Development Foundation, and FHI 360 opened 32 COVID-19 vaccination service posts during Ramadan 1443 Hijriah.
Head of the Mimika Regency Health Office, Reynold Ubra in Timika, Wednesday, said that COVID-19 vaccination service posts were opened in mosque complexes, shopping centers, Timika's Mozes Kilangin Airport, rest areas, as well as health centers and other health facilities.
"It is hoped that with the opening of vaccination service posts in various places, people can get vaccination services, both the first dose, second dose, and booster dose. Especially at this time the main requirement for travelers who want to carry out Lebaran homecoming must be complete vaccination plus booster dose vaccination, ' said Reynolds.
He stated that the interest of the residents to undergo booster vaccination increased before the Lebaran homecoming period.
"The weekly data on the number of vaccine recipients, especially boosters (boosters) in the previous few weeks was only around 500 people, starting this week it rose to 1,000 people per week. This is something that is natural because many people plan to travel outside Timika to carry out Lebaran homecoming," he said.
Reynold added that the government still has sufficient stock of COVID-19 vaccine for the first, second, and third dose vaccination services.
