Pertamina: Fuel Supply in Timika Papua During Ramadan is Safe

PT Pertamina MOR VIII Patra Niaga Papua Maluku ensures that the supply of fuel oil to all gas stations and Pertashops in Timika and its surroundings is safe during Ramadan until the upcoming Eid.

Sales Branch Manager IV Pertamina Papua, Nanda Setyantoro said that the supply of fuel to six gas stations and dozens of Pertashops in Timika and its surroundings has been normal, without any obstacles.

"The supply of fuel to all gas stations in Timika is still normal, there is even a tendency for the current level of fuel consumption in Timika to decrease compared to the November-December period last year. If the stock is maintained during Ramadan and even up to Eid al-Fitr, we make sure it is safe because tankers always go back and forth from Tual and Wayame Ambon to Timika," said Nanda in Timika, Papua Province, Thursday (7/4/2022).

Currently, Pertamina provides four types of fuel in the Timika area, namely Pertalite, Pertamax, Bio Solar and Dexlite. Of the four types of fuel, Pertalite and Bio Solar are the ones that receive subsidies from the government.

"Latestly, Pertalite has been subsidized. Previously, the selling price of Pertalite at gas stations was Rp. 7,850 per liter, now it has decreased to Rp. 7,650 per liter. Meanwhile, Bio Solar is still priced at Rp. 5,150 per liter," said Nanda.

For Pertalite fuel, Pertamina supplies around 8 to 16 kiloliters per day to each gas station.

Bio-Solar fuel is only rationed for 8 kl to four of the six gas stations in Timika, namely SPBU Timika Jaya SP2, SPBU Hasanuddin, SPBU Nawaripi and SPBU Kilometer 9 on the Timika-Pomako port road.

Pertamina welcomes the policy of the Mimika Regency Government which regulates the distribution of locations for filling Bio-Solar fuel according to the type of vehicle.

Since the implementation of the policy at the beginning of the year, the supply of Bio Solar in Timika has now returned to normal and there are no longer queues of vehicles at gas stations.

"After the distribution, sales of Bio Solar actually went down, at some gas stations it didn't even run out. Before there was a policy of distributing diesel fuel filling locations, there were cars that filled diesel at several gas stations many times a day, so no matter how much diesel we supplied, it would still run out ", explained Nanda.

Since the distribution of Bio Solar filling locations in Timika has been implemented, each truck can only fill 70 liters per day.

"There is a letter from BPH Migas regarding the limit on the special purchase of Bio Solar for each vehicle. In Timika it is only allowed to fill 70 liters per day, that is for trucks, so that everyone can get fuel," he said.

Pertashop is only allowed to sell Pertamax and Dexlite fuel, regardless of what they need.

According to Nanda, currently there are 17 Pertashops currently operating in Timika and its surroundings, spread from Pomako Port, East Mimika District to Timika Jaya SP2.

Pertashop is still possible to be built in several locations around Timika City such as the area around Timika's Mozes Kilangin Airport, Kwamki Lama, SP3, SP5, SP6, SP7, SP9, SP12 and SP13.

The good news, said Nanda, is that some of the businessmen involved in the Pertashop investment are Papuan natives.

"There are some people who are sons of the region, they are starting to look at the fuel distribution business through Pertashop," he said.
