PLN Distributes Aid for Merauke Paradise Nature School

In order to help improve the quality of education for children in Merauke, PLN distributed aid worth Rp. 80 million to the Paradise Paradise School of Merauke. Through the Manager of the PLN Merauke Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3), Abrar, the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJSL) assistance was symbolically handed over to the Chair of the Papua Paradise Center, Marthen Ayub Luturmasse.

The aid is planned to be used to build semi-permanent classrooms and teaching facilities for the Paradise Nature School. With the many limitations that exist, so far teaching and learning activities are still routinely carried out in mangrove forests, fields, river banks or terraces of residents' houses.

The chairman of the Papua Paradise Center, Marthen Ayub Luturmasse, expressed his appreciation for PLN for being willing to take part in creating a proper education for children. Of course, this assistance will be used as best as possible so that learning activities can take place better and more comfortably.

“We are grateful to PLN for being willing to help the Paradise Nature School under the guidance of the Papua Paradise Center. Hopefully with this assistance our students will be more enthusiastic in learning not only through formal schools but they can also learn how to love nature and learn interesting things directly with nature,” said Marthen.

On the other hand, the Manager of PLN UP3 Merauke, Abrar explained that this is one of PLN's commitments to support education in Papua, especially in Merauke. This is also a form of support for the fellow managers of the Paradise Nature School who are dedicated to providing knowledge to children in need. “Hopefully, with the assistance from PLN Peduli, it can help make learning facilities more appropriate. Not only forming the nature to love and protect nature, we also hope that children can gain knowledge regarding the good use of electricity, its benefits and dangers, "said Abrar.

The school, which was initiated to be a forum for character education, has been established since November 2020 and only has four active volunteer teachers. Until now, Sekolah Alam Paradise has 87 students divided into three class categories, namely the Seedling Class (aged 4-6 years), Tunas Class (7-9 years old), and the Tree Class (10-15 years old).
