Babinsa Supiori helps residents grind sago with a grinding machine

Babinsa Koramil 1708-06/Supiori Utara Sertu Sriyono helps residents process and grind sago in Fanjur Village, North Supiori District, Supiori Regency, Papua, Wednesday.

Sertu Sriyono in a press release received by Antara in Jayapura, Wednesday, said that sago is one of the staple foods besides rice that is widely consumed in eastern Indonesia, especially in the Papua region.

"In addition to consumption, people here usually sell sago in the form of snacks," he said.

According to Sriyono, sago is a local food ingredient that must be preserved and people usually still use the traditional process to process it by pounding or beating.

"However, this time we are helping the processing of sago by using a sago grinding machine, so that it can simplify and shorten the processing process," he said.

He explained that as a regional security officer who is in direct contact with the community, of course, he must be able to practice the eight mandatory military services including being an example and pioneering efforts to overcome the difficulties of the residents.
