Hundreds of residents of Maniwak Wasior Village received BLT Village Funds

A total of 125 families affected by COVID-19 in Maniwak Village, Wasior District, Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua received Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for the first quarter of 2022 amounting to Rp900 thousand.

Head of the Wasior District, Anthonius Alex Marani in Wasior, Thursday, said that the distribution of the Village Fund BLT in Maniawak Village was carried out on Wednesday (25/5) at the local village hall.

Each family head receives BLT DD of IDR 300 thousand per month, but it is paid in one lump sum for three months, namely January, February and March 2022.

"We hope that the funds (BLT Dana Desa, ed.) received will be used properly. Don't just sit on the beach and play music, then use it to buy liquor. Please use it well to help with daily needs," he said.

Head of the Teluk Wondama Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMK) Hendrik Rico Tetelepta explained that according to Presidential Regulation Number 104 of 2021, it is regulated that 40 percent of Village Funds sourced from the APBN are allocated for social protection programs in the form of direct cash assistance.

The next 20 percent is for food security and eight percent is for handling COVID-19.

"So the Village Fund BLT must be distributed, the condition is that those who are entitled to receive it are those who do not receive other assistance, for example from the Ministry of Social Affairs or which are usually distributed at the Post Office. If those who have received it cannot receive Village Fund BLT because it cannot be doubled," he said.

He reminded about there should be no cuts in the distribution of BLT. In addition, the village head did not delay the distribution of BLT and immediately prepared an accountability report.

Village Funds from APBN sources as well as Village Fund Allocations from APBD sources must be conveyed transparently to the community, what are the funds used for.
